Job Description

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states. 

We are in search of a Staff Accountant to assist with all general ledger functions and contract compliance. The Staff Accountant will work out of the National Headquarters in Princeton, NJ. 


  • BS Degree in Accounting preferred.
  • 3+ years of related general accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of general accounting through general ledger.
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
  • Valid Driver’s License.


  • Approval of Accounts Payable invoices for assigned regions.
  • Process and Upload of Monthly Purchase Journals.
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliation as assigned.
  • Prepare and data enters general journal entries monthly/quarterly (as necessary).
  • Analyze and monitor balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Maintain fixed assets schedule.
  • Review and process Ultipro Workflow for all new hires, promotions and transfers.
  • Review semi-monthly payroll for validation of allocations and budget
  • Prepare billing and assists with billing inquiries.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly variance reports for internal management reporting.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual cost reports as required by funding sources.
  • Prepare, enter, and maintain budgets in accounting software.
  • Prepare documentation and Payment vouchers for various monthly expenses.
  • Prepare monthly expense allocations and enters in general ledger.
  • Order, monitor and replenish PEX cards (RCC and grocery) for assigned regions.
  • Prepare and provide account reconciliations for compliance and annual audits.
  • Prepare required documents for local, state and federal government agencies.
  • Prepare applications for tax exemption status as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs.
  • Minimal hazards, general office working conditions.
