We are actively seeking a Junior Systems/Network Engineer to help ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s network and systems infrastructure. This position serves as a Junior level technical resource and SME for production operations support and relevant systems projects. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with Sr. Engineer to develop, recommend, and implement network/systems infrastructure, strategy, standards, and design based on industry best practices and analysis of user needs. 
  • Collaborate and consult with users, vendors, and other Information Technology staff to implement technology projects, automate processes, and develop improvements to existing network, infrastructure, and server systems.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of relevant network documentation and network component inventory.  This includes assisting in the design, documentation, and testing of disaster recovery initiatives identifying deficiencies and recommending enhancements to plan as necessary.  
  • Analyze, monitor, and advise/report any network/systems performance issues, bottlenecks, potential security weakness, or on-going network or systems concerns and work with IT Management toward resolution. 
  • Continually acquire technical and business knowledge; research and remain current on new technological developments, and information resources.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or
    • High School Diploma and equivalent experience (2+ years) in Information Systems or related field
  • 2+ years professional experience in a Systems/Network Engineer or similar type role
  • Knowledge of Cloud Based architecture such as SaaS, PaaS, IaaS a +
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Networking technologies including, but not limited to: Windows Server (2003 to 2012), SharePoint, Exchange and Office 365
  • Experience with Active Directory Infrastructure.
  • Virtualization experience with Hyper-V or VMWare and associated SAN’s.
  • Scripting (PowerShell, VBScript) knowledge.
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN connectivity, Traffic Optimization and Prioritization, and understanding of VOIP communication system.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with routing and switching concepts, TCP/IP protocol/port, IP subnetting, VLAN's.
  • Understanding of IT security principals including usage and implementation of end-point security applications, firewalls, IDS/IPS, SEIM and security best practices.
  • Acronis Backup and Recovery Cloud software knowledge.
  • Professional technical certifications in Microsoft, Cisco and/or other technologies is a plus.
