 This position is part of the Department of Children and Families (DCF).

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker uses best practice within a community based setting to apply social work methods to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of psycho-social dysfunction, including mental, emotional and behavioral disorders for families and individuals. The main responsibility of a clinical social worker is to screen medical records, conduct interviews and assessments, set treatment goals, and arrange for expediting and coordinating services.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Planning and managing social services
  • Providing treatment to youth with mental disorders, as well as various behavioral and emotional disturbances
  • Preparation of social histories and provision of social services.
  • Maintaining liaison with area resources and coordinating social service activities.
  • Assessing and planning for the social requirements of youths and families.
  • Developing social services programs and resources.
  • Providing consultation on various social aspects of procedures, policies. and services to staff.
  • Complying with CRMC policies.
  • Serves as an active member of each person’s Inter-Disciplinary Team (IDT), which includes involvement in Individual Habilitation Plan development and ISP.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW).
  • Must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with children and families.
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and graph data.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local regulatory agency operations.
  • Understanding and commitment to community based support for youth with behavior challenges.
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds (weight of average manual wheelchair when chair is empty)
  • Frequent lifting, stretching, and other physical exertion during positioning of consumers or equipment
  • May occasionally assist with wheelchair transfer of non-ambulatory participants.
  • Work will take place in the administrative office, community, and in the homes.
