Job Description

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states.  We believe in the dignity of every person, and in the freedom of all people to experience the highest degree of self-determination.

We are seeking a Program Specialist to create, implement, and coordinate all aspects of new fund development. This role uses best practices within a community-based employment setting to supervise and train our individuals on how to acquire the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social skills needed to acquire successful employment. Ingenuity and creativity must be utilized when determining the best training methods, assistance, and supports for an individual.

This is a Full-Time position, Monday-Friday 9am-4pm

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage Program Manager(s) including, but not limited to hiring, staff evaluations, employee relations and documentation, monitoring and scheduling required staff training, seminars, and conferences. 
  • Responsible for new program development, new home set up, state paper work, overseeing transition for consumers. 
  • Responsible for covering shifts, as necessary.
  • Monitors the health and medical needs, completes and tracks required medical documentation and ensures follow up is completed. 
  • Responsible for monitoring, tracking, and scheduling house and vehicle maintenance. 
  • Monitors fiscal, medical, personal, and ISP documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Serves as an active member of each person's Inter-Disciplinary Team (IDT).
  • Completes agency investigations, as assigned. 
  • Participates in agency quality assurance activities. 
  • Updates Residential Director/Coordinator of any issues including disciplinary action. 
  • Conducts managers meetings on a regular basis. 
  • Comply with all internal and state regulations and participates in all inspections and investigations.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field 
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Home Community Based Service or related field. 
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local regulatory agency operations
  • Understanding and commitment to community-based support for persons with disabilities.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Working Conditions:

  • On call, 24 hours a day, in cooperation with other management staff.
  • Frequent lifting, stretching and other physical exertion during positioning of consumer's or equipment.
  • May occasionally assist with wheelchair transfer of non-ambulatory participants.
  • Work will take place in the community and in the homes.
