Job Description

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states.  We believe in the dignity of every person, and in the freedom of all people to experience the highest degree of self-determination. Community Options is in search of an organized and experienced Staff Accountant to assist with all general ledger functions and contract compliance. The Senior Staff Accountant will work out of the National Headquarters in Princeton, NJ. Job Duties Include:
  • Approval of Accounts Payable invoices for assigned regions.
  • Process Monthly Purchase Journals.
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and enter data int general journal entries monthly/quarterly.
  • Analyze and monitor balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Maintain fixed assets schedule.
  • Review and process Ultipro Workflow for all new hires, promotions and transfers.
  • Review semi-monthly payroll for validation of allocations and budget.
  • Prepare billing and assists with billing inquiries.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly variance reports for internal management reporting.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual cost reports as required by funding sources.
  • Order, monitor and replenish PEX cards (RCC and grocery) for assigned regions.
  • Prepare and submit and payment of sales taxes.
  • Prepare and provide account reconciliations for compliance and annual audits.
  • Prepare and monitor monthly PNA, Room and Board schedules.
  • Review and approve T&E reports via InterplX web browser software.
  • Prepare required documents for local, state and federal government agencies.
  • Prepare applications for tax exemption status as needed.

Knowledge/Skills Required:
  • BS Degree in Accounting or related field, or
    • AAS in Accounting and 2-3 years’ related experience
  • 3+ years of related general accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of general accounting through general ledger.
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Working Conditions:
  • Occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs.
  • Minimal hazards, general office working conditions.
