Job Description

We are seeking a Staffing Specialist, who will play a key role in ensuring success and accuracy among the staffing needs and concerns among the region.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Consults with Program Managers regarding staff attendance, punctuality, and time-sheet documentation.
  • Schedules and reviews training for Direct Support Professionals to ensure Individual Specifics training is completed in accordance with internal policies and state regulations.
  • Assists in completion of New Hire paperwork for Direct Support Professionals.
  • May serve as train-the-trainer for various trainings.
  • Ensures all staff scheduling in homes, tracking absenteeism, and communicates any issues or concerns to Program Managers, Residential Coordinator, or Assistant Executive Director.
  • Develops and maintains a functioning per diem/substitute availability contact log to ensure minimum overtime.
  • Monitors and maintains current employee status.
  • Provides managers with updates to patterned call-outs. 
  • Assists with finding coverage for staff call-outs. 
  • Cooperates with internal and external investigations. 

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree and one year of experience in related field, OR
    • High School Diploma with three years' experience in related field
  • Ability to screen applicants using behavioral-based interviews and develop recruitment strategies to achieve required staffing levels.
  • Understanding and commitment to community-based supports for persons with disabilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local regulatory agency operations. 
  • Working proficiency of Microsoft Office.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Working Conditions:

  • On-Call 24 hours a day for emergencies, in cooperation with other agency staff.
  • Flexible schedule, as determined by supervisor.
  • Ability to lift minimum of 50 lbs.
  • May occasionally assist with wheelchair transfer of non-ambulatory participants.
